Are There Any Dangers in Vaping?

An electronic cigarette is really a device which basically behaves like tobacco smoking. It offers a battery, an atomizer, and a chamber for storing tobacco such as a paper or gel cartridge. Rather than tobacco, an individual actually inhales nicotine. Therefore, utilizing an electronic cigarette is generally described as “vaping.” The user places his/her electronic cigarette in the bottom half of a glass or silver ashtray and lights up the device.

In fact, vapor from e cigarettes usually do not contain any harmful chemicals as such. They contain only propylene glycol, water, glycerin, vegetable oil, and sometimes flavors. But there are specific chemicals and this can be harmful when inhaled, particularly if they stay in the lungs for a longer period of time. The most common chemicals which are discovered in e cigarettes are nicotine and some carcinogens.

Nicotine is a highly addictive chemical found in all kinds of tobacco and its own derivatives. When it is within e cigarettes, it presents less of a risk because it acts similar to an aid to quitting smoking than an actual chemical. The reason behind that is that nicotine includes a highly beneficial effect on the brain. According to research, nicotine works well to distract the smoker’s attention and finally lead them to give up smoking completely.

The next reason why e smokers find it easier to stop smoking through vapors is that it generally does not produce any unwanted by products. These include volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and free radicals. While both VOCs and free radicals are thought to be significant factors to the development of lung cancer, recent studies show that vapor is the lesser of the two regarding its damaging effects. Because vapor is smokeless, it presents no serious threat to one’s health.

In comparison with cigarette smoke, diacetyl is extremely harmless. Although, when exhaled, it produces long-term health consequences on the smoker and his loved ones. Diacetyl is present in tobacco smoke but far lesser than the ultrafine particles produced by vapor. When inhaled, the ultrafine particles penetrate deeper in to the lungs where they reach the blood stream where they serve as triggers to trigger the brain’s reward center, which results in craving for the drug.

Not only is smoking dangerous for your health but it can be a leading cause of death in many countries. While there is no definite evidence linking the tar and nicotine within cigarettes to cancer along with other fatal diseases, many health experts still advise against smoking. Apart from lung cancer and heart diseases, smoking has been known to cause many other health problems such as diabetes, oral and throat cancer, liver failure, stroke, and even an increased threat Novo 2 of a potential fatal case of cancer known as squamous cell carcinoma or simply “the patch”. Due to these risks, many smokers have turned their backs on cigarettes and are now resorting to the alternative cigarette – the ultrafine nicotine electronic tobacco or e-juice. As compared to cigarette smoking, there are still no serious health risks caused by e-juice.

As opposed to the dangers of using tobacco, there are also no serious health risks due to e-liquid. E-juice does not contain nicotine, tar, or any harmful chemicals which could prove detrimental to the fitness of a user. In fact, e-juice is made up of only natural organic ingredients along with other plant extracts. Probably the most commonly used ingredients in e-juice are lemon, maple syrup, corn, rice bran, green tea extract, white tea, and more.

A very important factor that should be noted about e-juice – just like any other liquid, it needs to be carefully handled and is not suitable for children to use. Many e-liquids contain a heating element that releases a highly volatile vapour. The vapour is highly flammable and may cause serious burns if it accidentally enters the eyes or mouth. It is therefore important that such a heating element is not within the liquid.
